About Sylvan Farm

Sylvan Farm is a premiere sport horse-breeding farm located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest near Seattle, WA. This leading breeder is known for producing top Hanoverians, Jumpers, Hunters, Dressage horses, among others, from the best European bloodlines available.

For more than three decades, Sylvan Farm has worked tirelessly to develop an exceptional herd, and produce athletes that perform at their peak under both professionals and amateurs.

The mild climate, lush fields and abundant rain create an environment nearly identical to that of northern Germany and Holland. Our horses are able to spend the entire year outdoors in fields with large loafing sheds. This quiet, serene setting is perfect for raising strong, athletic and rideable sport horses

The owner, and visionary, of Sylvan Farm is Judith Hedreen. Judy is a decorated breeder, USEF judge and was the first Executive Director of the American Hanoverian Society. Her career spans the gamut of international sport and her consummate credentials are truly unique among America’s breeders.

A former member of the USDF Sport Horse Committee, current member of the USHJA Jumper Breeder’s Task Force, contributor to multiple equine publications, and organizer of numerous educational seminars, Judy has spent her career helping to improve the industry and share her knowledge.

With an avid interest in Hanoverian jumping horses, Judy helped initiate the NA Jumper Breeding Program. In 2007, she was appointed as a judge to the Hanoverian Mare and Stallion Committee.

Retirement comes with mixed emotions for Judy. She has enjoyed the journey, relished the successes, made many friends along the way and most of all lived a life-long dream. She is offering the majority of her herd for the first time to bidders around the world via this dispersal auction only due to her retirement.
